TravelPulse on Scene: Hyatt Vivid Grand Island

Hyatt Vivid Grand Island, which just opened on April 1, is the first hotel complex of the new Vivid brand. It draws from its sister brands what works best to create a happy mix of boutique hotel and urban all-inclusive for adults. It's also where Hyatt All Inclusive regulars will find some favorites. Just 20 minutes from Cancun airport we visited it just six weeks after its official opening.

There are two infinity pools at the Hyatt Vivid Grand Island, one on the ground floor where a DJ is on site to ensure the atmosphere with live music and entertainment and games all day long. Our favorite pool was the rooftop pool - the largest in Cancun - which is quieter and has a spectacular view of the bay.

The infinity pool on the roof of the Hyatt Vivid is the longest in Cancun - you can practice yoga there every morning (an inspiration taken from the Zoetry brand) or enjoy the lounge chairs and benches in the water (an inspiration from the Impression brand) in addition to an “infinity” effect on the water and superb sunsets.

The Oishii restaurant was our favorite, firstly for the quality of the food - we enjoyed the best meal of the stay there - but also for the spectacular sunset (the restaurant is the only one located on the roof).

The hotel offers 400 rooms and suites with minimalist and modern decor and each room offers a balcony with outdoor furniture and views of the bay or the golf course. 

Important to know, the hotel is not on the beach, but has a nice private beach club with spa beds, palapas and a restaurant a few minutes away by shuttle - which leaves in the morning only and you must reserve your spot.

Hammocks and a deck area decorate the main swimming pool on the ground floor.

The Beach Club restaurant is great: located on the 2nd floor of the Beach Club it offers splendid views of the sea in addition to a very trendy atmosphere (open all day until 5 pm).
