TravelPulse Canada is proud to support Travel Advisors around the globe. Our "Tales From The Front Lines" series is designed to give consultants a voice during the COVID crisis and bring professionals together. Enjoy today's submission.

"I've been, at home trying to home school an over active 11 year old, and a very conscientious 14 year old. Since mid March, I have been back to the office only two times.

During this time, I have had some time off to de-clutter my house and workspace, along with organizing all of my travel photos from the past 20 years. Also, spent weeks going through every travel file for 2020 to contact clients, most importantly to see how they are doing? Next to give all details on travel credits and re booking procedures. The majority of clients plan to travel again, possibly next year to the same destinations as originally booked; Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, along with Arctic & Atlantic Canada.

Canada has done an amazing job with flattening the curve, and most provinces currently in phases of re-opening. Exploring our own country may be the preferred choice of many clients over the next year. At The Great Canadian Travel Group, we offer a wide variety of fantastic itineraries within Canada. Everything from viewing wildlife, to the aurora borealis and cultural experiences.

Looking Ahead

The most difficult aspect of Covid-19, has not been able to see extended family and friends in risk of spreading the virus. Grandparents not being able to see or hug their grandkids, family's living in different cities or country's and not being able to visit loved one's in the hospital.

This experience has allowed the world to slow down and reflect on what is most important, family, health and safety first. Our company owners have shared in this with us, ensuring that we are taking the time needed to be with family. Personally, I have turned to yoga and meditation to help me stay positive and rested. Spending time enjoying a hot cup of tea and a good book have also been one of my rituals.

I am hoping that the past few months solidifies the importance and expertise of travel agents. Contacting clients, advising their options, assisting with travel insurance claims and most important, making sure that all of our clients were able to return home safely.

This too shall pass, and once it does we can safely explore again!"
