Hurtigruten appointed Matt DeWitte as Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Americas, effective Aug. 31, 2026.
The appointment marks a return to Hurtigruten for DeWitte, who previously served as Head of Marketing, Americas, from August 2022 until Hurtigruten and HX Expeditions split into separate brands in January 2025.
Following the split, DeWitte moved to HX Expeditions, where he served as Head of Marketing for the Americas, Australia and New Zealand.

“We are so pleased to welcome Matt DeWitte back to Hurtigruten. Matt is an experienced leader who has consistently demonstrated strong delivery throughout his career. He brings solid and extensive marketing knowledge, combined with deep, firsthand knowledge of both our trade and B2C business in North America. He is already well known to many of our key partners and colleagues, and we are confident he will build on the strong work already underway. North America is a crucial market for our growth plans, and this year we have seen record growth,” said Iain Powell, Chief Commercial Officer, Hurtigruten.
In his new position, DeWitte will oversee Hurtigruten’s sales and marketing activities across the Americas as the Norwegian coastal cruise line looks to build on its growth in the North American market.
“I'm incredibly honored to return to Hurtigruten and to once again represent such an iconic travel brand. What makes this even more special to me is to be able to reunite with my talented former colleagues who have been driving the unprecedented growth here in North America, as well as colleagues back in Europe. Together, I'm looking forward to creating additional value for the brand and delivering exceptional experiences for our guests,” said Matt DeWitte, VP, Sales and Marketing, Americas.
DeWitte officially began his new role on Aug. 31.
