Contiki to Host 4 Agent FAMs in 2018

The first FAM will kick-start in Peru in May (May 12-May 18th, 2018), with its 'Germany Slovenia & Croatia Sailing' trip taking place simultaneously (May 13-19th, 2018); followed by the 'Thailand FAM' in September (September 23-29th, 2018) and ending 2018 with its annual 'Christmas Market & Ski FAM' in festive Germany and Austria in December (December 8-14th, 2018).

To be eligible for Contiki FAM's, agents must have completed the mandatory Contiki U E-learning training courses. To apply, agents will be required to tell Contiki in 100 words or more, how they plan to increase their Contiki sales after completing their chosen FAM, and send their applications to [email protected] no later than March 16th, 2018 for the two trips departing in May; by June 30th, 2018 for Thailand; and October 1st, 2018 for the Christmas Market FAM.

Contiki Peru FAM (May 12-18th, 2018; deadline to apply is March 16, 2018)

This 6-night Peruvian adventure will kick off in Lima, with an exploration of the Iglesia de San Francisco (Church of San Francisco) to take a look at its famous catacombs. In Cusco, agents will embark on a walking tour of this former Incan capital before heading over to the Cusco Cathedral. Over in the Sacred Valley, agents will visit Pisac where they will see two of the most important aspects of the Inca culture - terracing - a farming technique created by the Inca's and their religion, and the 'salineras' or salt mines. But it is in Machu Picchu where agents will stand in awe with a tour through the most important parts of the site such as the Temple of Three Windows, the ceremonial baths and the altar.

Contiki Germany, Slovenia & Croatia Sailing FAM (May 13-19th, 2018; deadline to apply is March 16, 2018)

The 7-day pre-summer FAM trip starts off in Munich where agents will go on a bike tour where they will get off the beaten track and onto Munich's side streets with a local guide. They will then head over to picturesque Lake Bled, before stopping in Ljubljana for the evening The sailing adventure begins in Plitvice where they will depart for the seaside city of Zadar to see the Roman Ruins and listen to the sounds of the famous 'Sea Organ' before continuing their journey to Split. On arrival, three days of sailing around the Adriatic Sea on a Contiki exclusive boat ensues that will feature stops in local markets, Free Time in Mararska and the buzzing town of Hvar.

Contiki Thailand FAM (September 23-29th, 2018; deadline to apply is June 30, 2018)

This 6-night Thai adventure will feature the best of Contiki's experiences in the 'Land of Smiles' starting in Phuket where agents can spend the two days dosing up on Vitamin D in a sea canoe or checking out some of the beautiful architecture. Agents will then sail to Koh Phi Phi where they can laze on the beach dine on the herb-filled rice salad with grated coconut or watch the sunset from the island's highest vantage point. In Krabi, agents will be able to soak in the small town feels of Ao Nang featuring friendly locals, massage spas, local markets and seaside cocktails. For the adrenaline seekers, Krabi is filled with a wealth of adventure including 1,260 steps climb to Tiger Cave temple to marvel at the beauty of Buddhism.

Contiki Christmas Market & Ski FAM to Germany and Austria (December 8-14th, 2018; deadline to apply is October 1, 2018)

The 7-day Christmas filled FAM kicks off in Munich with a walking tour of the city. Agents will have the opportunity to get into the festive spirit by visiting any one of Munich's Christmas markets. Then off to Dachau for a sobering experience at the site of the former concentration camp. Agents will be able to become one of the first to check into Contiki's newly renovated Gasthof. Then it's to Hopfgarten to ski, snowboard and toboggan (weather permitting). Ending off in Vienna, agents will be able to check out its many Christmas markets before visiting Schonbrunn Palace and a visit to a local schnapps producer where they will learn about the distillery process and sample some of the flavoured schnapps.
