"As a first-time cruiser, being a part of this fantastic conference at sea that our dedicated Air Canada Vacations' team put together was an exceptional experience. From learning all about cruising with Royal Caribbean International, spending time with industry professionals, this experience was the perfect opportunity for myself to really embrace what cruising is all about, while inspiring our travel partners with the benefits of Air Canada Vacations' Cruise Promise!" said Juan Contreras-Aragon, Area Sales Manager at Air Canada Vacations.

enjoyed a full day at Royal Caribbean International's beautiful private Island, Labadee, Haiti along with the opportunity of visiting its Exclusive Suite section. Rocky Mountaineer Additions

2/8
Rocky Mountaineer has announced that seven newly built GoldLeaf Service rail cars will be offered on its Western Canadian rail routes for the 2019 season.

The world's largest privately owned luxury train company will add four rail cars to its fleet in April, with three additional cars coming later in the season. The bi-level rail cars feature oversized glass-dome windows and a separate dining area for guests traveling through the Canadian Rockies.

To meet the growing demand from travelers worldwide, Rocky Mountaineer partnered with the Swiss rail car company Stadler to engineer and then build the new equipment at its facilities in Germany, keeping guest comfort and experience at the forefront throughout. This project marked the largest capital investment in Rocky Mountaineer's history. The remaining three cars will join the fleet in 2020, bringing the company's total to 26 bi-level GoldLeaf rail cars and 16 single-level SilverLeaf rail cars to mark Rocky Mountaineer's 30th anniversary as a luxury tourist company.

"These new GoldLeaf rail cars will allow us to welcome even more guests on board our trains and offer increased availability across our most popular dates and routes," said Steve Sammut, president and chief executive officer, Rocky Mountaineer. "We were intentional in designing these new cars to offer the same exemplary guest comfort across the entire fleet, while also making numerous engineering enhancements behind the scenes that reflect our goal of constantly enhancing both the experience and efficiency of our service."

New Zealand New Entry Requirements

7/8
Travelers from Canada - as well as from the U.S., the U.K. and much of western Europe-don't need a visa to visit New Zealand. But starting October 1, travelers from all non-visa countries need to apply for and be granted an Electronic Travel Authority, aka an ETA, before entering the country, according to a report at www.johnnyjet.com.

The ETA will be attainable via the Immigration New Zealand website for NZD$12 (about $11 CAD) or the app for NZD$9 (about $8 CAD) from July onward.

The application process isn't expected to be difficult, but on its website, New Zealand recommends that travellers "request your ETA well in advance of your trip to New Zealand. It can take [Immigration NZ] up to 72 hours to approve your ETA. If you do not hold an ETA when you check in for your flight or cruise you will not be allowed to board."

A mandatory International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy, or IVL, is also being introduced. Travelers will be required to pay NZD$35 (about $31 CAD) "to contribute directly to the tourism infrastructure they use and to help protect and enhance the natural environment they will enjoy during their stay in New Zealand." The IVL will be payable during application for the ETA. Once paid and approved, the ETA and IVL will both be good for two years.
