G Adventures is setting sail once again in Sri Lanka, bringing back its popular Sri Lanka Sailing – South Coast adventure after a five-year hiatus.
“We couldn’t be more excited to relaunch Sailing Sri Lanka – South Coast,” said Vince Donnelly, Global Sailing director at G Adventures.
“There’s no better way to explore the beauty of Sri Lanka and the trip is the perfect mix of adventure and chill, with spectacular wildlife, sunrise swims, delicious food and time in local villages where residents welcome you like family. With demand for Sri Lanka growing, we knew it was time to bring this one back into the spotlight and do more to support a country that’s been through so much in recent years.”
The relaunch follows a 29% increase in demand for Sri Lanka trips over the past year, and marks a significant return after the pandemic led to the sailing program’s suspension in 2020.
Beginning in December 2025, the seven-day catamaran-based trip explores the island’s southern coastline, offering travellers the chance to experience Sri Lanka’s rich culture, vibrant marine life, and natural beauty from the water.
Travellers will board a 54-foot CEYCAT catamaran in Mirissa, a southern beach town renowned for its whale watching. From there, the itinerary includes stops in Kudawella, Kalametiya, Rumassala, and the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort. Activities range from kayaking and paddleboarding to birdwatching, snorkelling, hiking, and exploring local villages.
Guests will also have time to relax on Jungle Beach, hike to the Japanese Peace Pagoda, and enjoy traditional Sri Lankan meals prepared fresh on board by the trip’s chef. A G Adventures chief experience officer (CEO) will lead each trip, joined by a dedicated skipper and culinary crew.
The Sri Lanka Sailing – South Coast itinerary can be booked as a standalone sailing experience or combined with one of G Adventures’ land-based tours for a longer 14-day exploration of the country.
Trips start at £1,259 per person, with departures beginning December 14, 2025.
