Adventure and small group trip operator Exodus Travels is offering a new promotion for its small group and self-guided cycling trips - book between August 8-31, for departures between September 1, 2022, and December 31, 2023, and clients will get half-off the price of an e-bike supplement.
Available on 98 of its cycling itineraries worldwide, travellers can simply quote the promo code EBIKE2022 at the time of booking to upgrade to an e-bike. But agents are advised that there are only a limited number of e-bikes available on each departure.
"Electric bikes have gone from a niche luxury item to an integral mode of transportation for many people around the world," says Robin Brooks, Marketing Director at Exodus Travels.
"They are equally valuable for cycling trips, taking the strain out of consecutive cycling days while also ideal for couples or groups of friends where one person is an avid cyclist, and the others are not. E-bikes remove barriers for those who want to experience a cycling trip but are worried about keeping up."
Seeing unprecedented levels of growth over the last couple of years, e-bike sales were up 145% from 2019 to 2020, according to the market research firm NPD Group. And the growth does not seem to be slowing, with Deloitte projecting that between 2020 and 2023, 130 million e-bikes will be sold worldwide.
"A flexible and eco-friendly mode of transportation, e-bikes are a great way to do everything from tackling traffic jams, to exploring rugged coastlines, hilltop villages, and accessing far-reaching coastal views," continues Brooks. Travellers can upgrade to an e-bike and take advantage of the current promotion on trips including Cycling the Camino Santiago, Cycling Vietnam and Cycling the Cape and Winelands.
