Toronto Pearson is warning travellers about a growing number of AI-generated articles that it says are spreading misleading information about flight delays, cancellations and airport operations.Airport spokesperson Sean Davidson told CTV News that some of the bot-generated websites are publishing as many as 100 articles a day.The concerns are not limited to Toronto. Aéroports de Montréal, Ottawa International Airport and Vancouver International Airport echoed the concerns.Canadian airport officials said the issue has also been discussed with airport officials in the United States."The sites and their fabrications have been a discussion point with our colleagues in the U.S. as well," an airport spokesperson told CTV News.
According to CP24, several websites have repeatedly published unverified information, including TheTraveler.org, Toronto Digest, Travel and Tour World, NomadLawyer and Travel Tourister.Airport officials urge travellers to verify flight information through official airport websites, airline websites or mobile apps rather than relying on third-party sources.
