Sandals Resorts executives have revealed that they are embarking on a room renovation project at the company’s two Barbados locations.

Per a statement shared with TravelPulse today, the work will take place at Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados and is part of an “ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence across its portfolio.”

The work will include room renovations and room maintenance upgrades in select categories for the remainder of the year, according to the company's statement. Both resorts will remain open while the work takes place.

“The resorts remain fully operational during this period, with all services - from the resorts' expansive pools to the 21 restaurants across both properties, available and ready to welcome guests,” said the company's statement.

A company spokesperson also explained that guests who are affected by scheduled room renovations will be provided with alternative accommodations, and, when available, may be upgraded to a higher room category.

Guests may also choose to transfer to any of Sandals' 15 other resorts across the Caribbean or reschedule their stay for a later date of their choice.

Sandals operates resorts in Saint Vincent, Curacao, Barbados, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Grenada, Bahamas and Antigua. Some of its newest properties are located in Saint Vincent, Curacao, and Jamaica.

Sandals Royal Barbados, which opened in 2017, is located on Maxwell Beach in St. Lawrence Gap. The property features many of Sandals' signature accommodation categories, including the first-of-their-kind Rondoval Suites, Crystal Lagoon Suites, Skypool Suites, Millionaire Suites, Swim-up Suites and more.

Opened in 2015, Sandals Barbados is situated on Dover Beach where the Caribbean meets the Atlantic. It is a 15-minute drive from the Grantley Adams International Airport.
