Le Germain to Open in Vancouver

The Vancouver hotel scene will have a new player when Germain Hotels and Reliance Properties transform an office building into a boutique hotel on West Hastings.

“Expanding into Vancouver is a major milestone for our company,” said Hugo Germain, Vice-President, Operations at Germain Hotels. “As a family-owned Canadian business, we are deeply committed to creating meaningful projects that leave a lasting impact.” 

Not set to open its doors until 2029, planning is already underway for the 180-room property.  LemayMichaud has been tapped for the design, which will “integrate Canadian artistry and local influences, capturing the essence of Vancouver’s unique character.”

“This hotel will not only bring a new level of boutique hospitality to Vancouver but will also play a key role in shaping the city’s urban landscape and help to address Vancouver’s critical shortage of hotel rooms,” said Jon Stovell, President and CEO of Reliance Properties. “Both of our families are deeply rooted in the Canadian business community, and this project reflects our mutual commitment to building a strong and prosperous future for Vancouver.” 

Vancouver’s hotel market is hot right now, with reported data showing the West Coast city had the highest occupancy and room rates in Canada for February,  averaging 71.5-percent occupancy with a $216.16 average daily room rate.
