Canada’s largest hotel, The Chelsea Hotel, Toronto, has announced Christopher Ashby as the new Director of Commercial Operations.
“We are delighted to welcome Christopher in his new leadership role at our hotel,” said Rob Housez, general manager. “His proven track record for delivering superior financial results will be a tremendous asset to the hotel.”
Ashby comes to the Chelsea following 20 years in the industry. He has held senior roles in sales, revenue, communications and marketing for such brands as Shangri-la, Marriott, Sutton Place, Windsor Arms, Four Seasons and Intercontinental. In his career, Ashby has worked developing market leading revenue outcomes, opened three hotels, closed one and rebranded another. He is a graduate of the General Manager Executive Program – Hospitality School from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
The Chelsea Hotel Toronto is part of the Langham Hospitality Group. The hotel bills itself as a full-service urban resort, with a focus on family amenities, including a variety of room types, three restaurants, exclusive areas for kids and tweens, and downtown Toronto’s only indoor waterslide. The Chelsea is centrally located, with some of the city’s top shopping districts, theatres, nightlife and attractions within a short drive or walking distance.
