The ACTA Immersive Destination FAM is underway in the Dominican Republic and TravelPulse is on scene as 24 agents and suppliers learn more about the island’s many different destinations and activities.
The group is taking a close look at Majestic Resorts, an all-inclusive, 5-star collection of hotels that have earned enduring popularity with Canadian sunseekers. The Majestic Resorts brand includes the Majestic Colonial, Majestic Elegance and Majestic Mirage in Punta Cana, and the Majestic Elegance in Costa Mujeres, Mexico.
There’s lots of competition across the all-inclusive Caribbean and Mexico, and the Majestic brand is working hard to continuing making travellers happy by adapting to changing needs and constantly updating its resorts.

Next up for a big renovation is the Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana. The Majestic Resorts team has been doing renovation projects over the past few years at Majestic Elegance, redoing the lobby, the Italian restaurant Il Bottaccio, the theatre and walkways.
The next renovation is a big one, and will shut the resort down from now through November 3. All 598 rooms at the Majestic Elegance will be touched by the renovation.
“Their focus is going to be the bathrooms and the jacuzzis that are in the rooms. They want to replace the jacuzzis and modernize the bathrooms,” says Paula Miller, Director of Sales & Marketing. “They’re doing a change with the vanities, the mirrors. More updated. Fresher looking.”
Miller told TravelPulse that all 598 rooms would have bathrooms and jacuzzis remodeled and updated. Some rooms would receive additional soft goods updates. “They’ll start doing furniture, tapestries, curtains etc.,” said Miller. “New textiles. New couches.”
The main buffet at Majestic Elegance is also being reimagined to adapt to current trends and improve customer satisfaction.
“The style in how we present our food in the buffet has changed compared to what it was 15 years ago, 10 years ago, even five years ago,” Miller said.

“Styles of eating have changed. Clients are requesting different types of cuisines. So we’re adapting and changing to do that as well. They’ll probably change and put some new hardware in to manage the style of buffets that we want to do today, which is all show cooking.”
Miller says main buffet furnishings and appearance will be redone as well. “I expect they’ll redo all of the chairs and tables at the main buffet. We’ll change and put more partitions up and redo the sitting areas more like we have at Mirage. It’s very open at the Elegance and we’ll want to do more intimate seating.”
The Majestic Elegance reopens on November 3, just in time for the winter season.
