Jamaica will see a major boost in airlift from Canada for the Winter 2025–2026 travel season, with Air Canada adding two new non-stop routes and increasing frequencies on existing services to Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (SIA).
The expansion includes new direct flights from Ottawa and Halifax, as well as additional service from Toronto and Montreal. The overall growth is 12% while the increase from Air Canada is 23%.
“These new routes and increased frequencies are a testament to the confidence our airline partners continue to place in Destination Jamaica,” said Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism. “Canada remains one of our most important markets, and expanded airlift is crucial to achieving our tourism growth targets and ensuring continued economic benefits for our people.”
Starting December 7, 2025, weekly Sunday flights from Ottawa to Montego Bay will run through April 12, 2026. Halifax service begins December 4, 2025, with weekly Tuesday flights until April 9, 2026.
Flights from Toronto will increase to 10 per week, while Montreal will see four weekly departures—up from three.
“As demand for Jamaica continues to grow, ensuring seamless connectivity is a top priority,” said Donovan White, Director of Tourism. “These additions by Air Canada will provide more Canadians with direct access to our island’s vibrant culture, warm hospitality, and world-class attractions, especially during the peak winter season.”
Angella Bennett, Regional Director for Canada, added, “As we continue to strengthen our presence in this important market, we’re confident that these new options will inspire more travellers to choose Jamaica for their next unforgettable getaway.”
