Air Canada is extending its European connectivity into 2027, making it easier for passengers to get across the Atlantic well into the winter and for the whole year.
Two flights have been extended until January, 2027: Montreal–Athens, which will operate 3x weekly; and Toronto–Athens which will operate up to 4x weekly.
Additionally, the nation’s flag carrier will be flying to Manchester and Copenhagen from Toronto all year long, up to 4x weekly, moving from seasonal operations.
Filling out the new trans-Atlantic schedule is the previously announced Tenerife service. Flights to the new destination will commence up to 2x weekly on Oct. 31 from Montreal, and from Toronto on Oct. 25, 2026, also up to 2x weekly. When the flights to Tenerife were first announced, it was hailed as a sign of Air Canada’s expanding global reach. “We are further cementing Air Canada’s global network as one of the most far-reaching from the North American continent,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, and President of Cargo at Air Canada at the time. “The addition of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, reflects our continued ambition to offer our customers and Aeroplan members an exceptional, diversified array of unique Air Canada destinations.”
This will be the only non-stop service from North America to the destination known for its volcanic scenery and year-round warm weather.
According to Dimple Melwani, CEO of Tenerife Tourism, the island has spent several years working to improve its positioning in the Canadian market. ”This direct flight makes it possible for Tenerife to reinforce our position as a gateway to Europe for North American travelers, while raising the profile of our cultural, culinary and leisure offering in priority source markets on the current roadmap.”
