The St. Vincent and The Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA) says it is ready to welcome Canadians this winter, as it provides updates on flights and hotels for winter 2022-2023.
"We are very excited and looking forward to welcoming our Canadian friends this winter with the commencement of Air Canada Rouge's weekly direct flights starting this November" said Glen Beache, CEO for the SVGTA. "Canada is a very important market for our destination and the new service will contribute to the overall growth of Canadian visitation."
Air Canada will recommence a weekly non-stop scheduled service from Pearson International, Toronto to St. Vincent starting Friday November 4, and twice weekly starting December 20, using its Boeing 737 MAX 8.
From the U.S., American Airlines has announced daily non-stop flights from Miami to St. Vincent starting Friday March 3, 2023. This new announcement will make American Airlines the first international airline to offer daily service to Argyle International Airport from North America.
For clients planning on visiting the destination, the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has released updated COVID-19 protocols. Fully vaccinated travellers must arrive with proof of vaccination. These travellers will not be retested during their stay, nor will they have to complete any mandatory quarantine upon arrival.
Unvaccinated travellers must arrive with a negative result of a COVID-19 -PCR test done no more than 72 hours prior to arrival, or negative SARS CoV-2 antigen test done 24 hours before arrival and will not need to quarantine. They may be retested on arrival.
On the hotel side, there are important new properties in progress, though not for this coming winter.
Scheduled to open in December 2023, Beaches Resorts by Sandals will sit on 50 lush acres and a short drive from the newly constructed Argyle International Airport. The resort will have an array of amenities and one, two and three-bedroom villas, making it perfect for families and extended families of all sizes.
The Holiday Inn Express at Diamond, minutes from Argyle International Airport, is under construction and expected to have 100 rooms once ready.
