Air Canada has launched a new self-service platform for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) and non-profits that is designed to make it easier to book and track corporate travel. The platform, called Embarq, gives business travellers and corporate travel arrangers a centralized hub to manage travel while “optimizing budgets and supporting employees on the road.”
“Canadian entrepreneurs and growing businesses need simple, flexible tools that help them connect with customers, partners and opportunities across Canada and globally,” said Alexandre Lefèvre, Vice President of Network Planning and Global Sales at Air Canada. “Air Canada Embarq reflects our ongoing investment in innovative solutions that are tailored to help Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises connect, grow and succeed.”
The platform is free to access and there is no minimum travel spend required. Travellers can use their Aeroplan account and select Business travel when booking, helping ensure eligible benefits are applied and trips are tracked through the Air Canada Embarq portal.
Air Canada says that companies and travellers who enroll in Embarq will have access to Air Canada’s global network, reliable schedules, connections through key Canadian and international hubs, and the ability to earn Aeroplan rewards and miles towards status programs.
Eligible individual travellers can also earn 50 percent more Aeroplan points on eligible flown business trips, rewarding employees when they travel for work.
