Guatemala reported an 8% increase in international arrivals in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
The country welcomed 1,610,904 visitors between January and June, according to the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT).

Officials credit the growth to improved air connectivity, targeted marketing campaigns, and the country’s reputation as a safe and diverse destination for travellers.
New flight routes are making Guatemala more accessible. Air Canada will begin direct flights from Montreal to Guatemala City this October.

“This remarkable growth is testament to Guatemala’s growing appeal as a world-class and safe destination,” said Harris Whitbeck, Guatemala’s Minister of Tourism and Director-General of INGUAT.
