Royal Caribbean Group has ordered the sixth and seventh Icon Class ships to be built by the Finnish shipbuilders, Meyer Turku, to be delivered in 2029 and 2030.

The two new ships are part of the group's long-term partnership with the shipbuilding company, which extends through 2036.

The Icon Class ships are some of the largest cruise ships on the water, offering several distinct "neighborhoods" with their own flair and offerings, plenty of family-friendly cruise cabin configurations to suit families both large and small and some record-breaking feats of engineering, such as the largest waterpark at sea and the largest pool at sea.

"The Icon Class reflects our bold creativity and engineering excellence that continues to define what a vacation can be," said Jason Liberty, Chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group. "Through our long-standing partnership with Meyer Turku, the Finnish government, and the strong Finnish maritime cluster, we are reimagining the industry for decades to come while also delivering meaningful economic impact for Finland."

Meyer Turku has built 25 ships for Royal Caribbean Group, and each Icon Class ship represents the largest industrial project in Finland.

The shipbuilders built Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, and will debut the Legend of the Seas this summer. Hero of the Seas is under construction and will debut in 2027.

The fifth Icon Class ship, which is still unnamed, is expected to debut in 2028, followed closely by the newly announced sixth and seventh ships.
