The Orient Express Corinthian is setting sail on its inaugural season.
Orient Express and Chantiers de l'Atlantique held a naming ceremony for the new vessel on April 29 in Saint-Nazaire. Afterward, the 720-foot ship set sail for the French Riviera to begin offering Mediterranean cruises.
From May to October, the 54-suite Orient Express Corinthian will sail the Mediterranean and the Adriatic, before crossing the Atlantic to spend fall and winter in the Caribbean.
In 2027, the ship will offer a new collection of itineraries in the eastern Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
Meanwhile, sister ship Orient Express Olympian is currently being fitted out following her launch on April 17.
“Bringing Orient Express to the sea fits naturally within the imagination of this legendary brand: a journey rooted in discovery, unhurried time, excellence and elegance,” Says Sébastien Bazin, chairman and chief executive officer of Accor.
“Orient Express Corinthian embodies this vision with majesty and boldness," Bazin continued. "Thanks to its sail-powered propulsion, its spaces enhanced by rare materials and by offering a unique experience designed for an international clientele, we have met a threefold challenge: industrial, architectural and artistic."
