Oceania Cruises has taken delivery of its newest ship, Oceania Allura.

The 1,200-guest Oceania Allura was constructed by Fincantieri in Genoa, and will spend her inaugural season in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Canada and New England. The ship will set sail on her maiden voyage July 18, heading from Trieste, Italy, to Athens, Greece.

In November, Oceania Allura will be christened by her godparents, a group of alumni from Food & Wine magazine’s Best New Chefs.

The vessel is the eighth in Ocean’s fleet and the second ship in the line’s Allura Class, following sister ship Oceania Vista. In the summer of 2027, Oceania will debut its first 1,390-guest Sonata Class vessel, Oceania Sonata, followed by sister ship Oceania Arietta in 2029.

At the delivery ceremony in Genoa, the company announced that two additional Sonata Class ships will also join the fleet. They have now been confirmed for delivery in 2032 and 2035.

“Oceania Allura is our most innovative and luxurious ship to date,” says Jason Montague, chief luxury officer of Oceania Cruises. “She represents our bold vision for an entirely new generation of luxury travel experiences. As always, at the heart of this beautiful ship is an extraordinary crew dedicated to providing exceptional cuisine, personalized, intuitive service and immersive enrichment opportunities for our guests.”

With the new ship, Oceania will debut new dining venues, new menus and new takes on favorite dishes, many of which will eventually be rolled out across the rest of the fleet. These include  the Crêperie, a brand new venue serving French crêpes, Belgian and bubble waffles and Italian ice cream sundaes. The line’s beloved signature French restaurant, Jacques, will also be returning aboard Oceania Allura with refreshed menus.

New recipes are coming to the Grand Dining Room and Oceania Cruises’ popular pan-Asian specialty restaurant, Red Ginger. Also debuting with Oceania Allura is the new Gerard Bertrand Wine Pairing Luncheon, a sommelier-curated journey through the portfolio of the celebrated French winemaker.

“The launch of our beautiful Oceania Allura is the springboard to our future and is the culmination of years of hard work of thousands of talented people, from the designers to the shipyard to our onboard team members,” says Alexis Quaretti, executive culinary director for Oceania Cruises.
