Holland America Line’s ship Oosterdam is back on the water after getting a makeover.
The vessel spent two weeks in dry dock in the Bahamas and is now sailing across the Atlantic ahead of its Mediterranean season.
The ship departed from Fort Lauderdale over the weekend.
Oosterdam will spend the next seven months in the Mediterranean, visiting destinations in Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Egypt and more. In November, the ship will once again cross the Atlantic Ocean to offer voyages in South America and Antarctica.
Crews made several major onboard enhancements to Oosterdam, working on staterooms and public spaces throughout the ship. They expanded the casino, created a new Effy lounge and jewelry retail space and made updates to the Crow’s Nest, Lido Market, Greenhouse Spa & Salon, Photo Gallery and Photo Studio and the suite-exclusive Neptune Lounge.
Workers also installed 215,000 square feet of new carpet in suites, verandah staterooms and public areas. They also renovated some bathrooms and replaced the deck furniture on some balcony staterooms.
