A cabin glow-up is coming to WestJet’s 737 fleet.
The airline announced new cabin interiors and amenities across its formerly economy-only 737 aircraft.
The full cabin refresh will add upgraded Premium seating and a larger Extended Comfort section, while standard Economy seats will include improved cushioning, adjustable headrests, and a fixed recline design intended to preserve personal space.

The modernized cabin will also include in-seat power outlets, phone and tablet holders, and redesigned lavatories and galleys.
“The cabin has been thoughtfully designed to offer WestJet’s welcoming service at every budget,” said Samantha Taylor, WestJet EVP and CEO
“It reflects our commitment to elevating every aspect of the travel experience and meeting guest demand for a broader range of product offerings.”
The new Premium cabin will feature 12 seats matching the model used on WestJet’s 787-9 Dreamliner fleet, including ergonomically contoured cushions, reclining backs, and large four-way adjustable headrests.
In Economy, the Expanded Comfort section directly behind Premium will offer 36 seats with extra legroom, separated from the rest of Economy by a cabin divider. Exit row seating remains available for passengers seeking maximum legroom.
Standard Economy seating will continue to provide a range of options, from smaller seats at the back to upgraded seats near the front, featuring contoured cushions designed to improve comfort.
“WestJet has always been a pioneer in making air travel available to Canadians, largely through keeping costs low to offer affordable airfares,” Taylor said.

“The layout for our refreshed cabin caters to our guests’ diverse preferences. Whether they opt for Premium seating with extra amenities and legroom or for more affordable ticket prices with less space, we’re excited to introduce this range of products for our guests to enjoy.”
WestJet Rewards members and employees participated in selecting the new seats in January 2023 and helped test cabin prototypes in late summer 2025. Feedback from these trials was incorporated into the final rollout, as well as crew training and operational preparation.
Upgraded Inflight Connectivity
Alongside the cabin refresh, WestJet is installing Wi-Fi presented by TELUS across its fleet.
Wi-Fi is free for WestJet Rewards members and allows passengers to stream, shop, work, and play in-flight.
Installation is expected to be completed on all Boeing 737-800 and MAX-8 aircraft by the end of 2025.
