WestJet will fly to Anchorage, Alaska from Calgary next summer, one of three new destinations in the U.S. This will mark the first time the airline has flown to the northernmost state.
The news was reported by AeroRoutes, an online publication that details airline route development. While WestJet has not yet announced its 2025 summer schedule, the operational schedule for the new U.S. routes are already filed under partner Delta’s DL-coded flight numbers.
The new route to Anchorage is slated to begin June 29, 2025, operating three times per week until the end of August. A second new route will link Calgary and Raleigh/Durham, also three times per week starting on June 30. Both Anchorage and Raleigh/Durham will be new airports for the carrier.
AeroRoutes also reports that WestJet will start flying from Edmonton to Chicago O’Hare and Salt Lake City. Three-times weekly flights to Chicago will begin on June 4, while service to Salt Lake City will start on May 15, with five weekly flights. Salt Lake City is another new first-time destination.
Additionally, WestJet will introduce two trans-border routes from Vancouver. Flights to Boston are set to start on June 9, initially four times per week, rising to daily in summer then back to four weekly flights by the end of September. Tampa will be WestJet’s second new route out of Vancouver, with a weekly flight starting on June 14.
