Porter Airlines has launched nonstop flights between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Kelowna International Airport (YLW).
The service begins with five weekly roundtrip flights and will increase to daily service starting June 23.
Flights depart Toronto at 9:15 a.m. and arrive in Kelowna at 10:55 a.m. local time. The return flight leaves Kelowna at 11:50 a.m., landing in Toronto at 7:00 p.m.
The route is operated using Porter’s new 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which includes a two-by-two seating layout, meaning no middle seats.
“Kelowna offers travellers year-round activities to embrace the beauty and adventure of the Okanagan Valley,” said Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting at Porter Airlines.
“It’s a must-visit for its scenic views, trails, pristine lakes, skiing, and award-winning wineries.”
The new route connects with Porter flights to Ottawa, Montréal, Halifax, and St. John’s through Toronto.
The new service builds on Porter’s existing routes in British Columbia, which include Vancouver and Victoria.
Onboard, Porter offers complimentary beer and wine in glassware, premium Canadian snacks, and free high-speed WiFi. Its PorterReserve fare includes meal service, no change fees, two checked bags, and extra legroom. PorterClassic passengers can purchase specific extras à la carte.
The airline also highlighted its ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact, including the use of biodegradable cutlery and eco-friendly packaging.
Flights are available for booking at flyporter.com and through travel agents.
