Plane-spotters, start your engines. The new Airbus 350-900 series is headed for Canada in April 2017. It will land at the Vancouver International Airport as part of a scheduled service expansion by Cathay Pacific.

Vancouver, the first airport in Canada to welcome the new aircraft, has a long-standing partnership with Cathay Pacific. The airline, one of the airport's first Asia Pacific carriers, began flying from Vancouver in 1983 with two weekly flights.
This May, the airline will increase its frequency between Vancouver and Hong Kong by three flights a week boosting its total frequency to 17 non-stop flights per week, more than any other airline.
"We are absolutely delighted that Cathay Pacific continues to excel in our market," said Craig Richmond, president & CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority. "Cathay Pacific's increased frequency will add an additional 87,360 seats annually into Vancouver. This kind of growth from our long standing partner is a testament to the strength of YVR as the connecting hub between Asia and the Americas."
The aircraft features a Business Class cabin and Premium Economy and Economy Class seating.
