Air Transat is entering the loyalty program market with the launch of Staria, a new rewards program designed to give both occasional and frequent travellers more ways to earn and redeem rewards on flights and vacation packages.
The program, which is now open for enrolment, introduces three features: points earned on eligible purchases, stars collected through interactive activities and a points-sharing option that allows up to nine members to combine their balances.
"With Staria, we want to give our customers even more reasons to choose Air Transat and to keep travelling with us. Designed specifically for leisure travel, the program will help us better understand their preferences, further personalize their experience and, with our partners, offer more ways to earn and redeem points. Staria is also a key driver of growth and revenue diversification for Transat," said Annick Guérard, President and Chief Executive Officer of Transat.
How Staria Works
Unlike loyalty programs that focus primarily on frequent flyers, Staria is designed to offer rewards to travellers who may only take one or two trips a year.
Members can earn Staria points on eligible purchases and redeem them toward part or all of an eligible Air Transat flight or Transat vacation package. Taxes and airport fees are excluded from redemption.
The program also introduces Staria stars, which members can collect by participating in interactive activities between trips.
Stars can be exchanged for rewards such as seat selection, meals from the onboard Bistro menu or bonus points on future purchases.

Up to nine members can contribute their points to a shared balance, allowing families, couples or groups of friends to combine rewards toward future travel.
"The joy of travel starts long before departure. It's in the destinations we dream about, the plans we share and the little details that make the experience more enjoyable. That's the world we're bringing Staria into. Rewards give people a reason to join; and the joy of participating is what keeps them coming back. Our ambition is to build a brand that inspires travel dreams, not just transactions," said Garcí Iñigo, Vice-President, Marketing and Loyalty, Transat.
Desjardins and Visa Credit Cards Coming in 2027
The launch also marks the beginning of a broader partnership strategy for Transat, with additional ways to earn points expected to be introduced over time.
Desjardins and Visa have been named strategic partners of the program and plan to introduce co-branded credit cards later in 2027.
The cards will allow members to earn Staria points on everyday purchases, along with additional benefits. Details about earning rates, card features and launch dates have not yet been announced.
For Transat, the program represents an opportunity to strengthen customer relationships beyond the booking process while developing additional revenue streams through partnerships.
Enrolment Now Open
Travellers can enrol in Staria immediately through the Air Transat or Transat websites.
