Air Transat announced non-stop flights between Toronto and Tirana, Albania.
Toronto–Tirana will operate once weekly starting June 18, 2026, using an Airbus A330.
“Albania is fast becoming a standout destination on the European travel map, and we are proud to be the first airline to serve it directly from North America,” said Sebastian Ponce, Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer.
“With nine new routes, the annualization of several services and increased frequencies on our flagship routes, our Summer 2026 program is the most extensive we have ever offered. It is part of a network strategy designed to maximize fleet utilization, support steady and profitable growth, and diversify our revenue streams, all the while giving our travellers more choice, flexibility and access to inspiring new destinations.”
In addition to Tirana, Air Transat will add new routes from Toronto to Accra, Montreal to Agadir, Dakar, and Reykjavik; Quebec City to Marseille and Nantes; Montreal to Ottawa; and Ottawa to London Gatwick.
Quebec City will see a notable expansion, including a new weekly non-stop service to Nantes beginning June 2, 2026, operated by an Airbus A321LR.
The airline will also increase Quebec City–Paris service to up to six weekly flights during peak season, launch a new Quebec City–Marseille route, and extend the Quebec City–Fort-de-France service to year-round operations.
“Québec holds a very special place in Air Transat's history and identity,” Ponce added.
“This year's additions from Jean Lesage International Airport reflect our commitment to make thoughtful, long-term investments where demand from Quebec travellers is strong. It is a concrete way for us, as a homegrown airline, to continue growing alongside the region, in step with its travellers.”
Air Transat will also convert several South-bound routes from Montreal, Quebec City, and Toronto into year-round services, including Cartagena–Medellín, Pointe-à-Pitre, San José, and Fort-de-France.
Increased frequencies are planned on several established routes, including Toronto–Berlin, Toronto–Venice, Toronto–Istanbul, Montreal–Madrid, Montreal–Brussels, and Quebec City–Paris, among others.
The airline also noted improved network connectivity through partnerships with Porter Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and GOL Airlines, expanding onward travel options across Canada, Europe, and South America.
