Passengers flying on Copa Airlines can add a stop in Panama without incurring any extra airfare costs under the newly enhanced “Panama Has it All and Very Close” program. The stopover program allows stays of a minimum of 24 hours up to 15 days for travellers connecting through Panama City.
To sweeten the deal, passengers can take advantage of exclusive discounts on hotels, restaurants, tours, and cultural experiences by showing their travel reservation confirmation or the Stopover voucher email, along with identification, to identify themselves as a Stopover passenger.
“With this new phase of the Panama Stopover program, we reaffirm our commitment to making Panama an even more attractive destination for international travelers,” says Marco Ocando, Chief Marketing Officer, Communications, and Frequent Flyer Program at Copa Airlines. “With this campaign, we aim to have more visitors discover the cultural and natural wealth of Panama and contribute to the country's economic development.”
Highlights in the area include the historic Casco Antiguo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; witnessing the engineering marvel of the Panama Canal; and venturing into nature-rich destinations like Coiba National Park, known for its extraordinary marine and wildlife diversity.
“This joint effort with the private sector is designed to help tourists make the most of their time in Panama, promoting a more enriching tourism experience for those who choose a layover in our country, says ATP Deputy Administrator Jorge Correa. “This initiative is undoubtedly an essential tool that strengthens the tourism value chain and, in turn, generates a significant economic impact for the country.”
Copa Airlines’ extensive network across the Americas and the Caribbean makes Panama an easy add-on destination, with service to more than 85 destinations in 32 countries. The Panamanian flag carrier flies from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Montreal-Trudeau (YUL).
