Air India and Air Canada have announced the codeshare agreement they previously shared will be reinstated, starting Dec. 2, 2025.
The airlines, both Star Alliance members, will place their codes on select flights offered by the other.
Air India flights will carry an Air Canada code on flights to Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kochi via Delhi, and to Delhi and Mumbai via London (Heathrow).
Reciprocally, Air India will place their code on Air Canada flights from Vancouver to Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montréal and Halifax and from London Heathrow to Vancouver and Calgary.
The agreement will allow passengers a more seamless travel experience, with a single ticket for their journey and a harmonized baggage allowance. Additionally, flights will be eligible to earn loyalty points on a passenger’s preferred airline and elite status holders will have access to member benefits according to their tier for privileges such as priority services, extra baggage allowance, and complimentary airport lounge access.
“More than two million people travel between India and Canada every year, as families reunite, students pursue their dreams, and businesses build for tomorrow,” says Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Air India. “The reinstatement of our partnership with Air Canada eases journeys for thousands of them every day moving forward.”
The agreement will roll out progressively, beginning next week.
