Air Canada’s Aeroplan loyalty program has taken top honours at the 34th annual Freddie Awards, winning Best Program of the Year (Airline), Best Elite Program (Airline), and Best Promotion (Airline) for its 40th anniversary campaign.The awards, held April 30 in Chicago, recognize the best in travel loyalty programs based on millions of public votes cast worldwide. According to press release, more than nine million votes were submitted this year."We're incredibly proud to be honoured among our peers at this year's Freddie Awards and this is especially meaningful as the culmination of our 40th Anniversary celebration," said Scott O’Leary, Vice President, Loyalty & Product at Air Canada. "A special thanks to our Aeroplan members for their support, and to our loyalty team, for bringing their full energy and commitment to the membership experience every day."
The Freddie Awards are named for aviation pioneer Sir Freddie Laker and are considered the most prestigious accolades in the loyalty program industry.Aeroplan was relaunched in 2020 and now allows members to redeem points with Air Canada and over 45 partner airlines. Features include access to all Air Canada seats with no carrier surcharges, Family Sharing of points, and stopovers on international itineraries for 5,000 points.
