Consumer Claim Judgements from TICO

Twenty-six consumers are likely feeling grateful for the Ontario Travel Industry Compensation Fund this week. The Board of Directors of the Travel Industry Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) ruled that 12 claims, covering 26 consumers, met the criteria to be paid out a total of $24,000 from the fund.

The claims were in relation to the closure of Trip Support Inc., for travel that the claimants had paid for but not received. Consumers who are impacted by this closure can submit Compensation Fund claims to TICO until May 5, 2025.

At the same meeting, three claims, related to the closure of Uniglobe Voyage Lexus, were denied. Two were denied due to insufficient documentation. The third was denied after it was determined that the travel services the claimant had paid for were available before the agency closed.
