Air Transat, in partnership with Visit Berlin, welcomed a group of eight Ontario-based travel agents and tour operators on a familiarization trip to Germany’s capital from July 6 to 11, 2025.

The visit marked the launch of Air Transat’s non-stop flights between Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Berlin Brandenburg (BER) airports.

“At Air Transat, we've always championed the transformative power of travel,” said Laura Albrow, account manager at Air Transat, who accompanied the group.

“This holds particularly true today, as we provide the only non-stop service from Canada to Berlin, a journey enhanced by our acclaimed in-flight service—recognized by Skytrax as the World's Best Leisure Airline for the seventh time.”

Albrow added that experiencing Berlin firsthand allowed the participants to better understand the city’s complex history, authenticity, and urban charm. “We believe this firsthand insight fully equipped and enabled them to confidently craft and sell unforgettable Berlin vacations to their clients.”

The itinerary included fine dining at sites such as the TV Tower and Humboldt Forum, visits to the Feuerle Collection and other museums, and guided tours covering Berlin’s baroque architecture, Jewish heritage, and Cold War landmarks.

Participants also attended a performance at the Chamäleon Theater, visited hotel properties including the Waldorf Astoria and Hilton Berlin, and explored Berlin’s street art at Teufelsberg. A cultural side trip to Potsdam and a culinary GastroRallye through Berlin’s dining scene rounded out the experience.

  • All Seasons Travel

The new Toronto-Berlin route runs twice weekly until October aboard the Airbus A321LR. The aircraft includes ergonomic Economy and Club cabins.

Through Air Transat’s joint venture with Porter Airlines, travellers from other Canadian cities—including Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Halifax—can connect to the Berlin route, expanding access to the German capital from across the country.
