The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors (ACTA) partnered with the Los Cabos Tourism Board to host an immersive destination learning experience in Los Cabos from May 25-29, bringing together 24 ACTA-member travel advisors from across Canada.During the five-day program, advisors took part in educational sessions, destination site inspections, and cultural and culinary experiences throughout San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. The initiative was designed to give advisors firsthand knowledge of the destination's tourism offerings and help them better serve clients interested in travel to the Mexican hotspot."When I saw that ACTA was hosting a Los Cabos Immersive Destination Experience, I was immediately drawn to the amazing learning opportunity that the itinerary offered," said Jennifer McPherson, CTC, of Turnkey Travel, TravelOnly.
"From gastronomy experiences to site inspections with incredible beaches and sunsets, the envy of any TikTok video, I can certainly see why this is emerging as a top sun destination. I have sent many clients to Mexican and Caribbean destinations, but this week I am falling in love with the variety of land and ocean experiences offered in Los Cabos, coupled with its fresh, artsy vibe. I will definitely recommend Los Cabos to my colleagues and clients."As part of the program, advisors also shared destination highlights through social media, offering real-time insights and experiences from their time in Los Cabos. ACTA said the content helped showcase the destination from an advisor perspective while providing travel inspiration and practical information for clients and industry peers. The learning experience comes as air access between Canada and Los Cabos continues to expand ahead of the winter travel season.New routes scheduled to launch include:Toronto–Los Cabos: three times weekly beginning Nov. 16 with Porter AirlinesEdmonton–Los Cabos: four times weekly beginning Nov. 16 with Porter AirlinesOttawa–Los Cabos: twice weekly beginning Dec. 18 with Porter AirlinesMontreal–Los Cabos: weekly beginning Dec. 10 with Air TransatACTA said programs such as the Los Cabos immersive experience are intended to help advisors build destination expertise through education, site inspections and firsthand travel experiences.
