Playa Resorts recently added Seadust Cancun to their portfolio and the company is planning a lot of upgrades, both physical and operational,
as we wrote about earlier. One major change is to their food and beverage program, headed by Executive Chef Jesus Farfan who is a new generation chef who was previously with Playa at their Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos property.
"We're very proud and very happy to have him here because he is innovative and is teaching the rest of the culinary team new trends and tastes," said Silvestre Vasquez, GM, Seadust, who describes Farfan as "a talented millennial Chef.'
"His new techniques are something that we want to offer to our guests that give high quality culinary experiences."
Farfan is backed by a solid beverage team which includes a mixologist expert and sommelier. Together the three of them are elevating the resort's menu to help bring the hotel to the next level of quality and experience that Playa is known for. Guests are encouraged to take one of the free mixology classes available on hand. Not only are they highly entertaining - think bottle flips and tricks and fire - but very educational as well.
Playa is also working with local company Pistilo, for special events and occasions decor. Pictured above is a sample dinner setting of what they can provide for a group on the beach, (which is available for guests at an extra charge).
Here's a look at a few of the dishes we sampled.
