Sunwing is adding a new Quebec gateway for winter 2017/2018 with the announcement that the airline will commence nonstop service from Mont-Joli to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic on Thursday December 21, 2017. The flight will operate weekly until March 22, 2018 and Sunwing's Mont-Joli to Punta Cana flights are the first time that the airport has offered nonstop flights to a sun destination.
"Providing our customers with the option to save time and money by departing from their local airport has long been a priority for us at Sunwing and we are delighted to be offering vacation packages from Mont-Joli for the first time." said Sam Char, executive director of Sunwing Vacations Quebec at a press conference held today at Mont-Joli Regional Airport. "Punta Cana is consistently one of our most popular destinations and we are sure that it will be well received by residents of Mont-Joli seeking a tropical escape this winter."
"For several years, the people of Bas St-Laurent /Gaspésie have been asking for flights to sun destinations from Mont-Joli." added Chantale Lavoie, president of Mont-Joli Regional Airport. "Today, we are very excited to welcome the arrival of Sunwing, a reputable tour operator offering vacations in beautiful destinations. This new addition will also benefit nearby businesses."
With the addition of the new gateway by Sunwing, Quebecers will have six different gateways to the sun across the province this winter.
Sunwing offers a wide variety of accommodation packages in Punta Cana, including family fun at Memories Splash Punta Cana, the brand new Royalton Punta Cana, opening later this year, or a romantic getaway at Hideaway at Royalton Punta Cana Resort.
