Excitement is brewing for the third annual GX World Community Tourism Summit, hosted by G Adventures and Planterra. The summit and corresponding experiential tour will be held in Jordan in September, 2025.
“GX is a chance for agents and members of the industry to witness the huge role they play in empowering communities through tourism,” says Bruce Poon Tip, G Adventures founder. “When done right, travel can be transformative - and this event, now in its third year, highlights its immense power.”
15 Canadian advisors, winners of the G Adventures Change Makers Challenge, will be in attendance having won a spot on the trip. There are also limited spots available for clients to book.
The trip portion of the experience will feature visits to Petra, the Dead Sea and Planeterra partners who are uplifting Jordanian communities through tourism, including Biet Khayrat Souf, a women-owned café in Souf with the purpose of combating women's unemployment and Al Safi Kitchen, a community-driven initiative that empowers local women and youth by providing them with opportunities to share their culinary traditions while earning a sustainable income.
It all culminates in a daylong conference in Amman on Sept. 27, 2025 (World Tourism Day) with interactive panels and speaker sessions centered around the power of community tourism.

After spending the day learning about enacting positive change through tourism, the attendees will celebrate with a party featuring a performance by The Jacksons (yes, those Jacksons!)
“The Jacksons changed the entire music industry when they hit the scene over 50 years ago, so it is fitting that they are playing at GX - the community tourism summit that we created to change the travel industry,” says Poon Tip. “Their performance at GX is going to be epic.”
