Abercrombie & Kent’s nonprofit arm, Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP), unveiled its 2024 Impact Report, which reported funding of $2.7 million in 25 global countries, representing a 17 percent year-over-year increase.

“AKP’s mission is to ensure that travel creates lasting, tangible benefits in the places we visit,” said A&K Philanthropy Director Keith Sproule.

“We believe that the best way to protect our planet’s wilderness is to invest in the people who live there," Sproule continued. "The linchpin of this effort is our commitment to staffing 17 full-time community development professionals, stretching from Peru to Kenya and Egypt to Cambodia.”

Some of the findings from the Impact Report revealed that in 2024, AKP provided food for 6,300 children in East Africa daily via school lunch programs, provided upward of 800 Cambodian students with access to new classrooms, drilled 90 wells in Siem Reap, Cambodia, and delivered 1,667 bikes to female entrepreneurs in Uganda and Zambia.

Abercrombie & Kent Founder Geoffrey Kent created AKP over 60 years ago to support local communities.

To date, the organization’s has supported 70 projects impacting more than 400,000 people.
