Christine James, Vice President, Canada for Travel Leaders Network (TLN), will retire this fall after 27 years with the organization.

James’ final day will be Oct. 30, 2026.

“I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent 27 years in an industry that I truly love,” she said.

“What I will treasure most are the people I have met, the relationships I have built and the many friendships that have grown throughout the years. Travel is an industry built on relationships, and I have been incredibly fortunate to experience that firsthand.”

During her tenure, James has played a key role in Travel Leaders Network’s Canadian operations, with a focus on member recruitment and service as well as relationships with supplier partners. She has also become a familiar voice within Canada’s travel trade, regularly providing perspective on issues affecting advisors and agencies.

“Christine has been such an important part of the Canadian travel community for so many years,” said Lindsay Pearlman, President, Travel Leaders Network.

“Her service, leadership, and countless contributions over the past 27 years along with her commitment and genuine care for people have left an incredible mark on our organization and our industry. She will be greatly missed, and we wish her all the best as she begins this exciting new chapter.”

James’ career has spanned major shifts in the way Canadians research, book and experience travel, including the growth of online booking and the changing role of traditional travel agencies. It also included some of the industry’s most challenging periods, particularly the disruption and subsequent recovery that followed the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through those changes, James said her focus remained on the people working within the industry.

“I have always believed that the strength of this industry comes down to the people in it,” she said.

“I have had the privilege of working with so many talented, passionate people over the years and I am incredibly proud of the relationships and memories we have created together.”

TLN says James’ successor as Vice President, Canada will be announced at a later date.
