Canadian Passports Joins ‘Most Expensive’ List

With costs set to rise on March 31, Canadian passports have priced themselves onto the list of the top 10 most expensive passports in the world.  The price for a 10-year adult passport now rings in at $163.50 (up $3.50 from previous), meaning Canadian passports edge out the cost for German and French passports, but come in well under the price of top ranking Australia, Mexico and the U.S.

At the least expensive end of the scale are Brazil ($46.36 CAD), Spain ($47.53 CAD), and South Africa ($48.08 CAD).

The price index, compiled by Compare the Market shows the top 10 most expensive countries to buy a passport:
