W Toronto is undergoing a refurbishment, concentrating on a floor at a time. Likening it to a second album to follow up a debut, the hotel is calling the first phase of the renovation “Volume II.” Volume II sees the lobby lounge, called Living Room, “reinvented to echo the beat of day-to-day routines, rooted in unexpected moments, music-driven activations, and creative energy.” It will serve coffee and pastries during the day. In the evening, Living Room will serve Perrier Jouët Champagnes and a lineup of signature cocktails and spirit-free selections, all drawing inspiration from the hotel's artwork and surroundings, as well as a new curated menu of locally-inspired bar bites.

"Reimagining Living Room on the ground floor was about creating synergy between W and the city," says Elie Sassine, General Manager of W Toronto Hotel. "Now, when you walk through our doors, you are immersed in the heart of the hotel, where Toronto's originality and the true identity of the W Hotels brand come to life. Whether guests join us for coffee at sunrise or cocktails at night, Living Room is where the experience culminates."

Up next is the soon-to-open rooftop restaurant, TONO. Led by Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Akira Back, TONO is slated to be Yorkville’s introduction to Nikkei cuisine, a blend of “Japanese precision and Peruvian passion.” More details about what the innovative restaurant will hold will be released as it gets closer to the anticipated October opening date.
