TravelPulse Quebec Managing Editor is currenty visiting the Riviera Maya region at the brand new XCaret Hotel Arte, an adults-only all-inclusive property focused on art and gastronomy.
The XCaret group is well known in the Cancun area, first for its theme parks, and more recently for its impressive hotels. The first hotel to open, XCaret Hotel Mexico, welcomes families to make the most of the theme parks (XCaret, Xplore), and has now become a destination of choice for travellers who appreciate the impressive decor of the hotel. Its restaurants (including two by Michelin-starred chefs) and its audacious design reminds us of where we are, halfway between Tulum, in the heart of the region of cenotes and Mayan ruins.
Hotel Xcaret Arte is the second hotel of Grupo Xcaret, which officially opened earlier this year. The adults-only hotel offers 900 suites designed as a tribute to Mexican art. The rooms all feature deep soaking tubs, custom-made artwork and furniture as well as a hammock on the balcony and impressive resort views. The hotel opened after an investment of 427 million dollars, to showcase the Mexican traditions through art, gastronomy and design.
Guests at the XCaret Hotel will be impressed by the audacious architecture, which perfectly combines design and environment. The site is set on the edge of a freshwater river that runs alongside the hotel, where guests can swim, snorkel, paddleboard or kayak, or even get lost in the mazes carved into the rock, since rock is omnipresent on the site of the XCaret Hotel Arte.
Hotel Xcaret Arte of course offers unlimited access to Grupo Xcaret parks, including round-trip transport to parks, hotels and the airport. Offering an all-inclusive formula, the hotel offers exceptional culinary experiences with exceptional restaurants that more than impressed us for an "all-inclusive" resort, the food is very, very good and even more. From morning to night, the abundance of concepts and options, from the coffee shop to the underwater restaurant that offers breakfast in a "healthy" formula to the vegan cuisine restaurant located on the Michelin-starred rooftop is impressive.
We also like the choice of swimming pools, which is just as impressive as the restaurant offer. The hotel is effectively divided into six "casas" each offering its own swimming pool, so it is difficult to make a decision when the time comes to choose "your spot for the day". The decor of the rooms is quite similar in every casa (and it is beautiful), it is really the atmosphere and the theme of each casa that changes: music, tranquility, artist...
Oh and also, it is impossible to miss the spa, which is one of the most beautiful that we have ever had the chance to visit, offering a hot/cold thermal circuit and a swimming pool which flows into the river in addition to a cozy decor built into the rocks, it is an invitation to complete relaxation that awaits you at the Mumuk Spa of XCaret Hotel Arte.
