Some hotel restaurants are fine. Perfectly serviceable places to fill up on the way to the fun stuff. But other hotel restaurants have elevated themselves to be destinations in their own right. If you’ve eaten at one of the top hotel restaurants in Canada, you know what we mean.

Statistics from WALR indicate that 61 percent of Canadian travellers think that restaurant offerings at hotels have gotten better in recent years. Nearly half (46 percent) of respondents said they have spent more on food and drinks at a restaurant than on any other activities during a trip. On top of that, over two thirds (68 percent) of Canadians would book the same hotel again because of a positive dining experience in the restaurant.

“Travellers aren’t just asking ‘Where should I go?’—they’re asking ‘What’s on the menu when I get there?’” said Kate Williams, Chief Communications Officer at KAYAK. “Great dining experiences are an essential part of today’s travel itineraries and hotels are rising to the occasion.”

Kayak and OpenTable have released a listing of the Top 50 Hotel Restaurants in Canada for 2025. The rankings are based on more than 1,000,000 reviews from OpenTable diners and dining metrics from June 1, 2024 - May 31, 2025.

According to the announcement of the official list, restaurants with a minimum threshold of diner reviews were considered and evaluated by a compilation of data points and weighted, including diner ratings and the percentage of five-star reviews. The qualified restaurants were also sorted by the ability to book the hotel where the restaurant is located on Kayak. The resulting list appears A-Z, not in ranked order.
