Palmaïa The House of Aïa Sets Intentions on Agents

According to Google, wellness is defined as the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you're thriving.

Palmaïa The House of Aïa fits that description perfectly.

Located in Playa del Carmen, next door to Sandos Playacar it is a distinct entity on its own. It’s also worlds away.

Palmaïa is a secluded, oceanfront resort with 234 suites, built into the surrounding landscape and offers an "unrestricted experience" with an intensive wellness program and personalized concierge service.

The BDMs are the same as Sandos; Juan Carlos Ruiz is in Central Canada, Emily Spadafora in Western Canada and Judy Makara in Eastern Canada and Quebec.  We spoke with Ruiz about the new resort to learn why this one should be on agents’ lists.

“Palmaïa The House of Aïa was built just before the pandemic hit, so it’s fairly new,” Ruiz tells TravelPulse Canada. “It’s not just a resort, it’s more a vision of wellness that doesn’t exist anywhere else. It is a concept that recognizes that the healing process is a journey, not a destination and is focused on wellness experiences that nourish the body inside and out.”

Ruiz says “Palmaïa goes beyond a regular all-inclusive wellness resort because it comes with a program with dedicated activities dedicated to elevating the mind and body. One program called “The Architecture of Life” features more than 30 wellness activities that are part of the all-inclusive such as sound rituals, which Ruiz says provides the biggest value to guests.

The resort also features “nomadic guides” which are like mainstream concierges who are available to guests throughout their stay.

The food program is also focused on nourishing the body and soul and everything on the menu is designed for optimal health, it’s a level of cuisine that Ruiz says is hard to match.

“We integrate healthy options for clients, who for them, it is very important. We work mainly with seasonal and organic foods and take away refined sugars and ultra-processed foods.

While it might sound like the resort is vegan, other options are available. There are two venues that are 100% vegan; a taco truck and a café that is plant-based. Guests are free to order other kinds of protein at any of the other restaurants. There’s also a wide selection of premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic mixology.

Ruiz says they’re going to be doing agent trainings across the country over the next few months to help educate clients on the resort’s offerings so that they understand the value for their guests.

“Our clients are single travellers, couples, group of friends, multi-generational families – anyone and everyone who is looking to find peace, rejuvenation, and relaxation while reconnecting with nature and enjoying exquisite cuisine. We will be starting to work more closely with agents with coaching calls and in-person trainings.”
