The Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) is expanding its outreach to Canada’s travel trade, completing a four-part series of workshops aimed at helping advisors better understand and sell the destination.

Delivered through the Taiwan Tourism Information Center (TTIC) in Vancouver and through national trade partnerships, the sessions have covered several travel segments, including Chinese-speaking travellers, adventure, families and the premium market.

The latest workshop, held Sept. 16 at TTIC Vancouver, focused on “Luxury & Premium Experiences in Taiwan,” looking at opportunities for advisors working with affluent couples, honeymooners, culinary and wellness travellers, multi-generational families and clients interested in culture and design.

Rather than focusing exclusively on traditional five-star luxury, the session explored experiences such as hot spring resorts, Michelin-recognized dining, private culinary experiences, high-mountain tea and Taiwanese whisky, artisan and cultural activities, wellness retreats and private touring.

Advisors also learned about premium ways to experience Taiwan’s mountains, lakes and coastline.

Four Workshops Target Different Markets

TTA launched the series in November 2025 with a Vancouver workshop focused on Chinese-speaking travellers. Approximately 28 participants attended, including travel advisors and representatives from EVA Air and China Airlines.

The second session, “Adventures Await in Taiwan,” was delivered nationally as an online webinar in partnership with Baxter Media. It focused on Taiwan’s outdoor tourism offerings and attracted 89 live participants, with another 196 streams following the original broadcast.

In June, TTA returned to TTIC Vancouver for a “Family & Kid-Friendly Taiwan” workshop attended by 20 travel trade professionals. The session focused on products and experiences suited to families travelling with children, along with tourism and airline updates.

Current Offers for Canadian Clients

The September workshop also included details on current Taiwan Tourism programs advisors can incorporate into client itineraries.

The “Return to Taiwan, Double Your Luck” campaign gives eligible foreign visitors returning to Taiwan a chance to win NT$5,000 in vouchers, with an additional NT$3,000 available for a companion.

For the meetings and incentive market, Taiwan’s 2026 Travel Rewards program includes benefits for eligible travellers, including a complimentary Taiwan Tour Bus half-day or full-day tour and a free three-day high-speed rail pass through the Taiwan PASS app.

“Canadian travel advisors play an essential role in helping travellers discover destinations beyond the places they already know, which is why ongoing engagement with the travel trade is such an important part of our work in Western Canada,” said Sylvia Lee, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration's San Francisco Office.

“Through these workshops, we want to give advisors both the inspiration and the practical tools to build Taiwan into their clients' travel plans. Taiwan offers exceptional experiences across every price point, and current programs such as 'Return to Taiwan, Double Your Luck' and special travel rewards for MICE visitors make it even easier to create itineraries that offer both convenience and outstanding value.”

The four workshops are part of TTA’s broader effort to build awareness of Taiwan among Canadian travel advisors and provide information they can use when developing itineraries for different client types.
