Revelstoke Mountain Resort Sets Dec. 5 Opening After Summer of Lift & Terrain Upgrades.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) will open for the 2026/27 winter season on Saturday, Dec. 5, following a summer of lift and terrain work at the B.C. resort.

“We've been looking forward to Opening Day just as much as our guests,” said Ryan Melnyk, Executive VP. “Between the lift upgrades and the terrain work our mountain ops team put in over the summer, it's shaping up to be a season of great skiing, riding, and exciting events. We can't wait to get everyone back on the hill.”

Among the latest infrastructure work is the replacement of the lower gondola cable. The project follows multi-year improvements that have included increased capacity on the Ripper Chair, trail widening, the addition of the Cupcake Carpet learning zone and an upgraded Mountain Sports School facility at the top of the Revelation Gondola.

RMR has 3,121 acres of skiable terrain and 1,713 metres of vertical, with average annual snowfall of 10.5 metres. The resort offers lift-accessed skiing and riding, while backcountry touring and heli-skiing through Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing are also available in the area.

Terrain will open on a staggered schedule depending on snowpack and conditions. Details on available lifts and runs will be released in the days leading up to opening.

More Programming for 2026/27

The resort's Mountain Sports School will again offer programming for a range of ages and abilities, including children's programs, advanced clinics, freeride programs and specialty adult programming.

RMR also plans to expand family-oriented programming in its village and base area throughout the winter.

Opening Weekend festivities begin Dec. 4 with a Winter Welcome party featuring fireworks, entertainment and giveaways.

Other events scheduled for the season include Holiday Kickoff from Dec. 17-20 and Ski with Santa on Dec. 24. The resort's Kids Ski Free promotion will run from March 1 through April 30.

More Development at the Base

Development is also continuing at the base of Revelstoke Mountain Resort as the property expands its year-round offerings.

The Cabot Revelstoke Mountain Lodge is expected to open in 2027 and will include more than 8,500 square feet of meeting and event space.

The development will also include an 18-hole golf course and residences at the base of the mountain.

Additional events and programming for the 2026/27 season will be announced throughout the winter.
