New booking data from FlightHub suggests the U.S. remains the top Spring Break destination for Canadians.
According to FlightHub’s latest analysis, the U.S. accounts for 33% of international Spring Break bookings made by Canadians for travel between March 16 and March 27. While that share declined slightly from 36% in 2025, the U.S. still leads all international destinations.
The findings are based on round-trip bookings originating in Canada and compare 2026 departures with the same period in 2025. The data includes tickets booked between Jan. 1 and March 5 in both years and was extracted on March 5, 2026.
While the U.S. continues to dominate international bookings, Mexico is gaining ground. FlightHub’s data shows Mexico’s share of Spring Break bookings increased from 6% in 2025 to 9% in 2026.
The Montréal–Fort Lauderdale route ranked as the most popular international itinerary among Canadian travellers.
Domestic Travel Demand
At the same time, FlightHub’s data suggests a significant increase in domestic travel demand.
Domestic Spring Break bookings rose 89% in 2026 compared to 2025, reflecting growing interest in travel within Canada.
Western Canada remains the most popular domestic destination region, with British Columbia maintaining the top position.
Ontario remains among the top three domestic destinations, driven by continued demand for major cities and tourism hubs.
The most popular domestic route was Edmonton to Vancouver.
Airfare Trends
The data also shows differing trends in airfare prices.
The average domestic airfare declined slightly, dropping to $203 in 2026 from $217 in 2025.
International fares rose in several regions.
Average airfares to the U.S. increased from $321 to $379, while flights to Central and South America climbed from $677 to $761.
Younger Travellers Lead
FlightHub’s analysis also points to a shift in traveller demographics.
Gen Z travellers now account for 33% of domestic Spring Break bookings, making them the largest demographic group this year.
Millennials follow at 30%, according to the data.
