Barbados is returning as the official destination partner of Toronto's Rosé Picnic festival this summer.
Taking place July 11 at the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto, the event will feature a Barbados pavilion showcasing Bajan food, cocktails, music and culture. Guests will have the opportunity to sample culinary offerings from Barbadian chefs and mixologists, while enjoying a live performance from Barbados-based band 2 Mile Hill.
"Today's Canadian traveller is looking for more than just a vacation, they are looking for experiences that allow them to truly disconnect, recharge, and reward themselves with something meaningful and memorable," said Eusi Skeete, Director of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. Canada.
"They want destinations that are safe, welcoming, authentic, and rich in experiences, and Barbados continues to deliver on all of those expectations."
Among those representing the island at the event are Chef Javon Cummins, Chef Trevon Stoute, mixologists Alex Chandler and Tanya Devonish, and the members of 2 Mile Hill.
Rosé Picnic attendees will also be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Barbados, with the prize package highlighting the island's culinary scene, beaches and cultural attractions.
"What makes Barbados particularly compelling is the diversity of experiences available on the island," Skeete added. "Whether visitors are seeking world-class culinary experiences, wellness and relaxation, heritage and culture, soft adventure, luxury, sports, or immersive community experiences, Barbados offers the opportunity to craft a vacation experience that is deeply personal and uniquely rewarding."
The event is expected to draw thousands of guests and will also feature rosé tastings, culinary programming, fashion showcases and shopping experiences.
