Canada’s Indigenous Tourism Association (ITAC) reports that interest in authentic Indigenous experiences is growing rapidly.

“Indigenous tourism is not only a way to celebrate culture, but it is also a meaningful step toward reconciliation, fostering understanding and connection,” said Keith Henry, CEO and president of ITAC.

Looking ahead to 2026, ITAC has put together a roundup of experiences, all owned and operated by The Original Original (TOO) members.

"When you join an experience that displays The Original Original mark, you are directly supporting Indigenous owned businesses. The revenue generated by these businesses flows back to Indigenous families and communities, helping to build economic independence and pride in culture," the organization states on its website.

With travellers seeking more authentic, meaningful, and sustainable travel experiences, ITAC shared a Canada-wide list of experiences that reflect Indigenous traditions and stewardship of the land.
