Virgin Voyages Celebrates Inaugural Call at Sitka, Alaska

Virgin Voyages has made its inaugural call at Sitka, Alaska.

New ship Brilliant Lady was welcomed by representatives from the City of Sitka, Sitka Tribe of Alaska and local organizations, reports KCAW.

The celebration included shared Champagne, speeches and the exchange of plaques. 

The 2,762-guest vessel debuted in New York in September 2025 and is now spending the summer in Alaska, marking the brand’s first foray into the state.

Roughly 600,000 passengers are expected to stop in Sitka this season, sailing aboard roughly 25 cruise lines.

Cruise ship traffic to Sitka has increased in recent years, but in 2025, rejected a proposal to limit cruise tourism.
