Effective November 11, the automatic gratuity added to accounts for Royal Caribbean passengers will rise by $2 per person, per day. With the change, the crew gratuity will rise to $18 per person, per day for most cabins, $20.50 for suites.
Passengers were informed of the increase via email. Royal Caribbean last raised the gratuity charge to $16 for standard cabins, $18.50 for suites in September, 2022.
With the increase, the per passenger gratuity charge for a seven-night cruise is $126 for a standard cabin, $143.50 for suite.
Currently, Norwegian Cruise Line charges the highest amount among major lines -- $20 per person, per day for most staterooms. Celebrity is consistent with Royal Caribbean at $18 per day, which Carnival Cruise Line, MSC, Princess and Holland America all add $16 per person per day in service charges for most cabins.
